Maintaining your boards is important to extend its looks and performance. End grain boards with heavy usage should be treated every 4 weeks or so whereas edge and face grain boards can go a little longer. If your board stops repelling water consistently it's definitely time. To use our Board Butter simply start with a clean dry board, apply an even thin coat to all surfaces, allow to dry for an hour or more then buff with a soft, clean cloth. Your board should repel water extremely well once completed. If not, additional coats can be applied. Please note boards with heavy knife usage over time will need a surface sanding and recoat of oil and wax if the desire is to remove all knife marks.

We typically only stock one of each of our boards as we fabricate based upon materials on hand at that time. If you see an out-of-stock board you like, feel free to contact us about making another. Custom orders can take up to 5 weeks based on wood inventory and pricing can fluctuate.
